Provide water and wastewater treatment services to petroleum product refineries.

*** Operate electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow and pressure of water pumped into Treatment Plant and distribution system.

*** Monitor panelboard and adjust controls to regulate flow rates, loss of head pressure, water elevation, and distribution of water.

*** Adjust automatic devices that feed specified amounts of chemicals (chlorine, ammonia, lime) into tanks to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water.

*** Start agitators to mix chemicals and allow impurities to settle to bottom of tank.

*** Dump chemicals such as alum into tanks to coagulate impurities and reduce acidity.

*** Test water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities using colorimeter, turbidimeter, and conductivity meter.

*** Record data, such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure.

*** Purify waste water from plant preparatory to pumping water into rivers and streams, city mains, or holding reservoirs.

*** Utilize telemetry system to monitor water tank levels and water pressure, and adjust booster pumps to maximize delivery of treated water.

*** Perform periodic inspections of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation devices to check for abnormal conditions.

*** Clean tanks and filter beds using backwashing.

*** Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.

*** Calibrate and standardize process monitoring of equipment.
