Underwriting Group Leader - Excess Casualty - New York, NY

Description
Seeking proven people leader with extensive underwriting expertise focused on excess casualty risks who can manage an underwriting group, develop business and marketing plans, and manage P&L for the group.
Objectives:
*** Develop and manage annual budget.
*** Develop and maintain underwriting rates, coverage forms, and guidelines.
*** Manage line managers and production underwriters.
*** Build the team with extensive input into recruiting, hiring, training, and firing.
*** Create and manage distribution channels.
*** Manage and appoint agents and brokers.
*** Underwrite complex new and renewal accounts.
Required:
*** 15+ years underwriting experience with previous management responsibilities including P&L, budgeting, and people leadership.
*** Experience with budget development, strategic business planning, team management, and hands-on underwriting.
Global company highly rated by employees and customers. Competitive compensation with executive salary and bonus opportunities for total earning potential up to $235,000.
