Seeking individual with background in logistics and supply chain management for a production machine shop, or similar environment who can vet third party suppliers for equipment, tools, raw materials, etc.

Shall:

*** Identify, evaluate, select, and revise approved suppliers for: Tooling, equipment, surface treatment chemicals, and raw materials (steel, aluminum, titanium, exotic alloys, etc.)

*** Qualify, select, and establish relationships with suppliers.

*** Develop contracts and establish expectations on cost, quality, and responsiveness.

*** Manage communications with vendors and suppliers.

*** Oversee and lead supplier continuous improvement and development.

*** Initiate quality improvement and waste reduction measures.

*** Audit suppliers for quality standards, operational capacity, security, and logistics methods.

Qualifications:

*** 3+ years relevant expertise in supply chain management, logistics, or related in a production machining environment.

*** Must be able to monitor timelines and schedules to identify delays in the process.

*** Experience with metal finishing, coating, etc. is a plus.
