Specialty insurance provider seeks an experienced Professional Liability Underwriter to manage day to day operations, direct work flow, and contribute underwriting expertise.

Candidate will underwrite a portfolio of various Specialty and Niche products such as: Professional Liability lines, P & C Commercial Packages (for sports & recreational facilities, municipalities, entertainers, disability insurance, professional athletes, kidnap & ransom, earthquake insurance, prize indemnity insurance, or similar), and Primary Excess Casualty (for Transportation, Construction, Manufacturing, and similar).

Responsibilities:

*** Assess new and renewal policy submissions.

*** Assist junior underwriters on applications with higher complexity.

*** Approve or reject special policy conditions and negotiate commissions.

*** Develop, review, and implement new policies, processes, and rules.

*** Provide departmental oversight to ensure policy and procedural implementation.

*** Serve as subject matter expert on underwriting procedures and similar.

Experience Sought:

*** Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or similar field.

*** Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), or similar professional designation.

*** 8+ years of Specific E & O and Professional Liability underwriting experience.
