Manage Special Investigations Unit to ensure prompt and fair investigation and disposition of referred claims and instances of possible insurance fraud.

*** Direct, supervise, and train SIU staff, including SIU Investigators and SIU Assistants.

*** Establish and oversee referral methods to determine claims for SIU investigation and educate branch staff and management.

*** Oversee and direct investigations of claims referred to special investigations unit.

*** Search ISO databases and other sources to determine prior or ongoing loss information.

*** Perform background investigations involving courthouse records, tax records, medical history, and attorney involvement on parties referred for this type of investigation.

*** Review police, weather, and fire department reports or other pertinent claim information.

*** Analyze internal and external data on submitted claims and direct branch staff and management on appropriate handling.

*** Testify in court, participate in Examinations Under Oath, and attend depositions and court cases.

*** Ensure claims handling and investigations meet company guidelines, management objectives, and the law.

*** Prepare and maintain file documentation to substantiate investigation procedures.
