Safety Officer - Pipeline Maintenance - Galveston, TX

Description
Lead safety inspections to identify and correct hazards, oversee regulatory compliance, and lead accident investigations to reduce future problems during gas pipeline corrosion control projects.

Shall:

*** Own safety and environmental programs, develop and implement safety training plans, and determine appropriate corrective actions to counter non-compliance problems.

*** Act as the internal safety expert and monitor operations.

*** Advocate for continued improvement and enhancement of the safety program

*** Ensure adherence to OSHA, DOT PHMSA, and EPA guidelines, investigate reported safety issues and resolve non-compliant factors.

*** Initiate and manage training efforts for proper handling of hazardous materials, effective protective equipment usage, and safety reporting.

*** Track, monitor, and analyze safety and environmental performance metrics.

Required:

*** 2+ years in a similar position with responsibility for team member safety and regulatory compliance.

*** Experience in the Oil and Gas industry, pipeline construction, field services, or similar industry.

*** Bachelors or equivalent technical degree.
