Seeking individual with experience leading all aspects of a optical thin film coating department who can oversee personnel, develop schedules, and manage equipment for both the design and production teams.

Activities:

*** Develop, manage, revise, and implement production plans.

*** Evaluate, approve, or recommend changes to designs for multi-layer thin films applied to filters, lenses, and mirrors.

*** Provide input to process development and sustainment.

*** Task and schedule personnel, evaluate reports from group leaders for both research and development and production team members.

*** Schedule routine maintenance of thermal evaporation equipment, E-Beam PVD vacuum chambers, and sputtering chambers.

*** Develop schedules and budgets for new equipment purchase and current system upgrade, modification, overhaul, etc.

Qualifications:

*** 6+ years leadership experience within an optical thin film coating environment producing low volumes of highly engineered, highly precise coatings for filters, lenses, sensors, mirrors, detectors, etc.

*** Practical knowledge and experience with software such as Filmstar, Optilayer, TFCalc, etc.

*** MS or PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Optics, or similar.
