Seeking BS, MS or Ph.D in Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar; 4+ years experience developing surgical devices; Familiarity with FDA and ISO Design Controls, Good Manufacturing Processes, Bloodbourne Pathogens and Hospital Protocols; Track record interfacing with surgeons and hospitals in support of development projects; Proven capabilities in product design, design for manufacturability and assembly, and material and component sourcing and selection.

Must have hands-on knowledge of Electro Surgical Devices such as: bovies, cautery pens, ablation devices, RF surgical devices, coagulation units, laser and rf cutters, dermatalogical lasers, laser opthalmoscopes, photo coagulators, phlebology devices, or similar.

Activities:

*** Conduct research, design, prototype fabrication, testing, debugging, documentation, and validation of surgical devices.

*** Ensure products and processes developed are compliant with regulatory and industry standards.

*** Interface with project stakeholders including cross functional team members, co-developers, vendors, and ultimate end users of devices (surgeons and hospital staff).

*** Identify and prioritize Clinical Needs.

*** Conduct hands-on design activities using 2d & 3D CAD, Modeling and Analysis software.

*** Support development of manufacturing processes and tooling.

*** Author specifications, protocols, reports, etc.

*** Participate in and observe surgical procedures in laboratory and clinical environments.
