Seeking individual with 5+ years dedicated failure analysis for printed circuit boards, semiconductor lasers, or similar products with precision soldered materials.

Shall:

*** Assess critical failures of equipment and components, establish possible reasons for failure using root cause analysis and expertise with materials.

*** Interface with representatives from third-party labs and send equipment to be inspected using equipment ranging from: optical microscopes, 3D X-Ray scanners, scanning electron microscopes, or other high precision equipment.

*** Analyze data from laboratory, isolate possible failure causes and establish corrective action and preventative action for future projects.

*** Develop a library of reference materials based on common failures, or possible failures, and document recommended corrective actions.

Requirements:

*** Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or relevant field.

*** Knowledge of processes and failure potential for materials joined by soldering, brazing, precision welding, or similar methods.
