Polymer Compounding & Production Process Engineer - Richmond, VA
Seeking individual with knowledge of polymers and plastic compounding activities to join a leader in novel specialty compounds.
Job Functions:
*** Utilize technical expertise and knowledge of plastic compounding to develop efficient new polymer manufacturing processes.
*** Work with the Research and Development team to validate polymer requirements including additives and fillers.
*** Verify process acceptability through analysis and hands-on testing.
*** Oversee production equipment layout including feeders, hoppers, extruders, twin screws, conveyors and granulators; verify ideal floor plan and modify as needed to accommodate process needs.
Qualifications:
*** B.S. in Engineering Discipline or equivalent.
*** Experience using process DOE development and evaluation.
*** 5+ years plastic industry experience with knowledge of specialty polymers and compounds.
Join a specialty resin and polymer provider and provide input into projects that service pharmaceutical, automotive and aerospace applications. This is a highly visible role which will be groomed for management. Starting compensation to $130,000 with annual bonus, excellent medical, dental and vision coverage, pension plan and matched 401(k) contribution.
