Tooling Manager Toolmaker Moldmaker Tool Room Supervisor Tooling Engineer Machinist Plastics Injection Mold _ .

Seeking plastic mold fabrication and maintenance leadership experience to work with engineering team and customers from concept through transfer into production of plastic parts -- supporting design of product for manufacturability and selection of molding process and equipment; designing molds and other tooling and fixtures; sourcing tool fabrication vendors, overseeing tool production, prototyping, testing and validation; and commissioning into production.

ACTIVITIES:

*** Collaborate with customers in parts design and manufacturing feasibility.

*** Interrogate component design for tolerencing and other factors with "Design-for-Manufacturability" analysis and recommend manufacturing efficient changes to customers.

*** Manage rapid tool fabrication process internally and with suppliers.

*** Ensure tool shops are compliant with ISO 13485 and OEM build criteria and standards.

*** Review and address weekly progress reports from shops.

*** Visits shop to confirm process, materials and progress of tool fabrication.

*** Conduct first off tool sampling.

*** Review performance data and critical dimensioning issues.

*** Oversee tool release procedures.

*** Support manufacturing floor in adjusting tool steel -- putting back into mold, placing mold back into press, re-sampling parts, getting new metrology, analyzing the data and authoring a submission report to customer and getting customer final approval.
