Petroleum Pipeline Metallurgical Materials Project Engineering Manager - Joliet, IL

Description
Lead an engineering project team which provides engineering support to pipeline owners (downstream, midstream and upstream) including: integrity management assessments; failure analysis; materials selection; repair consultation, fabrication & welding supervision and testing.

Involves detailed analysis of pipeline and flowline systems under diverse load conditions. For example:

*** Modeling thermal expansion; buckling resistance; upheaval; high speed impacts; fatigue; etc.

*** Addressing welding and related API 1104 ASME issues.

Participate in industry groups, attend trade shows and conferences, and writing and presenting technical papers, interface with clients, prepare technical proposals and reports, etc.

Requires college degree in mechanical, metallurgical or welding engineering and 7+ years of experience in pipeline engineering or pipeline integrity management and solid knowledge of pipeline construction practices, materials, fabrication methods, and petroleum transmission and storage industry regulations and standards.
