A Nonprofit Public Policy Advocacy Organization recently concluded a significant five-year strategic planning process which pushes the organization to focus its work on race equity, early learning and child care, juvenile justice, child welfare, long-term vision setting, and power building while requiring a bold new approach to policy work. The Operational Excellence Specialist role is critical to the success of the organization's new strategic direction and overall organizational advancement.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the Operational Excellence Specialist is responsible for support the organization's grant funded work in the following categories:

*** Early Learning

*** Positive Youth Development & Juvenile Justice

*** Child Welfare - Abuse & Neglect

*** Health

*** Economics

*** Social Networking Safety & Effects

*** Mental Health

*** Education

*** Racial Equity

*** Family Support

Each of the above categories is led by an assigned Policy Advocacy Unit Manager whose projects and campaigns are supported by functionally diverse experts in the organization's Human Support Resource Matrix. We seek a mission-driven and experienced Operational Excellence professional to serve as a partner to the CEO in oversight of the organization's Human Support Resources Matrix and drive increased operational efficiency and quality in the following areas:

*** Human Resource Allocation

*** Project Management Support

*** Key Performance Indicator and other Metrics Collection, Analysis and Reporting

*** Quality Assurance & Policy Congruency

*** Grants Performance Tracking

A successful candidate will be experienced, resourceful, and independent with compelling and persuasive communication skills.

Role focuses on key areas:

*** Operational Process Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, Just Do It)

*** Process Assessment and Value Targeting

*** Performance Measurement

*** Organizational Enablement

*** Technology Enablement (Process Management Software; Rules Management; Digital, Data & Analytics)

Requirements:

*** Proven track record of delivering successful business process improvement projects.

*** Experience helping stakeholders document processes, identify and prioritize critical operational gaps.

*** Proven ability to identify and standup reliable key process, operational and business metrics to monitor and track improvements,

*** History of effectively managing stakeholders including identification, engagement, relationship building, negotiation, and communications.

*** Formal Project Management, Quality Assurance and/or LEAN Training. PMP, Six-Sigma or similar certifications a plus.

*** Hands on experience with automated Project Management and Metrics Monitoring systems.

*** A minimum of 2-3 years in a professional services role, project management experience, and/or HR experience OR 1-2 years in a resource planning/coordinating role.

Highly visible leadership role within an advocacy leader providing direct interaction with organization's CEO, executive board and stakeholder leadership.
