Grant Writer Manager Nonprofit Policy Advocacy Grants Writing and Management Specialist Writer Administrator Child Advocacy Early Learning, Positive Youth Development & Juvenile Justice, Child Welfare - Abuse & Neglect, Health, Economics, Law, Social Networking Safety & Effects, Mental Health, Education, Racial Equity, Family Support _ .

Join a well-funded nonprofit nonpartisan "action tank", committed to the goal that all children are prepared for successful college, work, and adult life.

Work closely with each of the organization's Policy & Advocacy Unit Managers supporting and managing grant lifecycles.

*** Develops and implements pre- and post-award grant processes (SOPs) to ensure effectiveness and compliance within organizational and financial policies.

*** Maintains Grant Management Database.

*** Ensures the organization remains compliant with grantor requirements.

*** Handles a wide variety of grants and contracts that range from simple to highly complex.

*** Serves as a resource for internal Policy & Advocacy Unit Managers, collaboratively ensuring grant proposals are developed and submitted following grantor and the organbization's Standard Operating Procedures.

*** Coordinates and reviews grant proposals.

*** Oversees grant reporting and monitoring activities and ensures compliance and accountability of funds.

Detailed Functional Activities:

Pre-Award

*** Reviews grant documents and budgets, verifying completeness, accuracy and adherence to policy.

*** Researches and informs each of the organization's Policy & Advocacy Managers of funding opportunities in their Subject Category.

*** Develops historical "Success" documents providing Proof-of-Capability to be used in support of grant application and selling process.

*** Enters grant applications into Grant Management Database and tracks application due and award notification dates on grants calendar.

Post-Award

*** Tracks the deliverables of grant agreements and amendments and collaborates with Policy & Advocacy Unit Managers in response to requests for internal reviews and revisions.

*** Oversees and coordinates responses to requests from grantors for information related to: grant expenditures; reporting, audits, and monitoring reviews; and other information.

*** Provides Policy & Advocacy Unit Managers and Chief Financial Officer with grant reporting requirements and ensures grant reports are submitted at least one day ahead of stated deadlines.

*** Collaborating with organization's Operational Excellence Champion creates and updates Key Performance Metric documents, database or process management software.

*** Provides training on grant related processes to Policy and Advocacy Unit Managers

*** Ensures proper documentation and records of grant activities are retained according to record retention policies.

Grant Compliance

*** Oversees and champions organization's compliance with laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, standards, and policies and procedures, grant terms and conditions, and Uniform Guidance.

*** For each grant, creates a summarizing Grant Info Page or Database Record that is easily accessible via digital network to authorized staff and stakeholders.

Requirements:

*** Track record independently structuring and prioritizing tasks, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced evolving environment.

*** Ability to build relationships, solve problems, manage conflict, and exercise sound judgment.

*** Commitment to develop equity skills and cultural competence.

*** Strong technology skills. Ability to troubleshoot technology issues and identify solutions to technology challenges. Prepared to lead sourcing and implementation of an enterprise level grant management system.

*** BS Degree

*** 5+ years of experience in a non-profit setting managing the grant and contract process including prospecting, applying, closing and monitoring deliverables.

*** Record of successfully achieving at least $2,000,000 in new grant funding over the past three years.
