Plastics Manufacturing Engineer Process Engineer Extruded Biomedical Medical Devices Tubing Catheters Jacketing Tapers Extrusion Coextrusion Rubber TPE Silicone Validation Sterile Clean Room_ .
Lead and support process improvement projects and operations engineering activities including quality improvement, efficiency improvement, and new product & process development.
Projects involve plastic medical device assembies and plastic medical consumables and involve multiple manufacturing sites and vendor management.
*** Drive improvement and corrective action projects using techniques such as Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC), 8-D, and appropriate statistical tools.
*** Plan capital expenditure and execute acquisition and implementation of new equipment for process improvement.
*** Investigate, design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technology for the introduction of new products.
*** Assist with emerging issues in production, quality, engineering, and supply chain.
*** Engage with product development teams to improve manufacturability of new product designs.
*** Conduct Root cause investigation for issues identified in design, manufacturing, or from customer reports.
*** Manage implementation of product configuration changes to meet customer and business needs.
*** Support operations projects to implement new manufacturing technologies.
*** Set aggressive quality objectives and plan and perform activities to reach quality objectives.
*** Create, review, and execute validation plans considering design, process, end use, risk management, and current regulations and industry best practices.
*** Execute all regulatory, quality, and technical requirements necessary for Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Systems Regulation, and design control integrity.
*** Travel to manufacturing sites and vendor facilities as projects require, to facilitate collaboration between multiple manufacturing sites and business units.
*** Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis or Fault Tree failure analysis on products and processes, and craft appropriate mitigation measures through process improvement, validation approaches, and verification.
*** Update process, design, and fixture documentation including work guidelines, specifications, and CAD.
*** Provide technical expertise related to system design, electronics, mechanical & software integration, and similar.
*** Serve as subject matter expert related to defined process improvement techniques (i.e. Lean, Six-Sigma, Kaizen events, and similar).
