Provide technical support for casting and related product processing operations with commercial, military, and industrial applications.

*** Prepare samples for testing.

*** Operate X-Ray Fluorescence, Carbon Sulfur Determinator, and Oxygen Nitrogen Determinator instruments and to provide precise analysis of alloy test samples.

*** Track chemistry and other process variables and conduct statistical analysis of data.

*** Enter information into data systems.

*** Interface with casting engineers to relate alloy characteristics to casting specifications and standards.

*** Develop melting procedures and quality systems.

*** Calculate melting charge materials using specialized software.

*** Consult with engineers to develop methods of manufacturing alloys at minimum cost.
