Mechanical Design Engineer - Manufacturing Equipment - Charlotte, NC

Description
Seeking individual with background in Mechanical Engineering and experience designing manufacturing equipment to pave the way for new product lines through innovative, effective equipment designs.

Shall:

*** Lead design projects for new electro-mechanical manufacturing and production line equipment, develop cost estimates, and ensure ease of manufacturability.

*** Interface with product development and marketing teams, determine key elements of mechanical design and ensure design incorporates all desired functions.

*** Develop engineering drawings and incorporate components including variable speed control systems, pick and place arms, vision systems, gears, and hydraulic and pneumatic hoses and pistons.

*** Create detailed Bills of Materials down to screws, bolts, and washers.

*** Perform Design Analysis, Failure Analysis, Design Reviews, Tolerance Studies, etc. during design reviews.

Required:

*** BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent and 3+ years in a similar role designing equipment or machinery.

*** Expertise in 2D and 3D design, drafting, and modeling software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, TurboCAD, or similar.
