Requires experience with the following, or similar:

*** Troubleshooting scientific molding process using metrics from process parameters: Melt Temperature, Coolant Temperature Entering and Leaving the Mold, Coolant Flow, 1st Stage Fill Time and Weight, 2nd Stage Packing Time and Pressure, Gate Seal Time, Cooling Time, Plastic Back Pressure, Screw Recovery Time, Overall Cycle Time, Final Part Weight, Clamp Tonnage, Dewpoint, etc.

*** Inspecting defective parts and evaluating Clamp Tonnage, Transfer Position, Packing Pressure, Barrel Temperatures, or other process parameters.

*** Comparing actual process to documented process and resolving variations.

*** Verifying parts and processes meet acceptable limits and standards.

*** Documenting process changes.

*** Setting up molding machines, tooling, and machine tending robots (including sprue pickers).

*** Inspecting, identifying, and resolving part defects - flash, sinks and voids, short shots, jetting, gate blush, burning, flow lines, weld and meld lines, dimensional defects, warpage, splay, bubbles, blisters, etc.

*** Polymer flow and rheology studies, gate seal studies, cooling time studies, cosmetic process windows, etc.
