Global drug company seeks individual to manage lab operations that are developing, manufacturing and commercializing therapeutic adeno-associated virus vectors for its rare diseases program.

Activities and Objectives:

*** Supervise process development scientists and technicians and provide hands-on support for the purpose developing, optimizing, and scaling-up downstream processes in a laboratory setting

*** Improve existing AAV purification processes.

*** Develop novel and improved AAV manufacturing processes.

*** Design and execute experiments.

*** Analyze data, interpret results, and report.

*** Ensure safe work place in compliance with the company and EHS' rules and regulations.

*** Oversee laboratory facilities maintenance, calibration, safety, etc.

*** Keep current with advances in formulation development for AAVs and fill-finish processing, including relevant conference attendance.

Requirements:

*** Engineering or Science degree.

*** Hands-on ability with Tangential Flow Filtration, Ultrafiltration and Diafiltration, ÄKTA protein purification systems, and Chromatography.

*** Knowledge of cGMP biologics manufacturing and understanding of related regulatory guidelines.
