Seeking individual with proven success leading import and export compliance programs for an electronic device manufacturer. Must have experience operating under Export Administration Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and Department of Commerce regulations for goods requiring Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs).

Responsible For:

*** Trade compliance adherence and audits, ensure robust compliance evaluation programs are in place. Verify all import and export requirements are followed according to governmental, regulatory, and international trade regulations.

*** Establishing training programs for personnel to ensure compliance and regulatory adherence.

*** Interactions with freight forwarders, governmental authorities, import brokers, and customer representatives to ensure all documentation is filed, goods are received, and are clear of any issues.

*** Verification of proper Export Control Classification Number filing and assignation to proper components and products.

*** Maintaining records in Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management systems.

Experience:

*** Leadership in a trade compliance, import specialist or export specialist role; knowledge of rules governing trade between NAFTA countries and other, including China, Japan, and Brazil.

*** Familiarity with domestic and international freight forwarding activities, exporting requirements, and import regulations including the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).

*** Knowledge of all activities involved in coordinating, brokering, and expediting shipments in compliance with regulatory and shipping requirements. Ability to generate packing slips and other shipping documentation including Destination Control Statements.
