Leads the design of molds, tooling and components based on product design requirements and current steel manufacturing tolerances.

Activities:

*** Meet with customers to define product requirements including materials and design.

*** Analyze project requirements and estimate required investments for plastic molding tooling.

*** Establish mold design requirements to meet customer needs.

*** Perform review of products for manufacturability.

*** Determine required tooling and capacity for new programs.

Requirements:

*** 3+ years experience in mold design for plastic molding operations.

*** Familiarity with injection molding, two-shot molding, overmolding and insert molding processes.

*** Expertise using CAD programs such as CREO, AutoCAD, TurboCAD or SolidWorks.
