Description
Seeking results oriented thin film coating technical expert with experience designing, testing, validating, and implementing multilayer thin film coating processes for filters, mirrors, and lenses or similar products used in aerospace, defense, surveillance, imaging, etc.
Activities:
*** Serve as the primary technical resource for all new product development and existing product refinement activities involving process design and refinement.
*** Evaluate product design requirements and develop thin film coating processes to meet specifications, turnaround schedules, and cost requirements.
*** Oversee junior process engineers and coach in advanced techniques, quality requirements, and equipment.
*** Design, test, troubleshoot, validate, and implement vacuum coating processes including Physical Vapor Deposition, Chemical Vapor Deposition, Sputtering, Thermal Evaporation, etc.
*** Specify, source, select, and purchase new coating chambers.
*** Design and conduct experiments to improve existing processes. Analyze results and enhance thin film robustness, consistency, and performance.
Requires at least 5 years direct process engineering expertise for thin film coatings applied to filters, mirrors, lenses, or similar. Must be able to lead a team of junior process engineers, interface with customers, and champion innovation.
