Description
Seeking experienced Process Engineer with background in multi-layer thin film coatings for optics.
Shall design thin films, manage personnel, develop production schedules, and interface with clients.
Activities:
*** Direct, train, and schedule designers and coating technicians.
*** Develop schedules for optical thin film production.
*** Lead review and technical oversight of multi-layer optical thin films.
*** Oversee thin film design, process development, and sustainment.
*** Evaluate current equipment, recommend upgrades or modifications, or purchase new equipment.
*** Develop and manage annual budgets.
Requires experience with the following technologies, or similar:
PRODUCTION PROCESSES: Ion Beam Sputtering, Ion Assisted Deposition, E-Beam PVD, Sputtering, Thermal Evaporation, etc.
EQUIPMENT: Thermal evaporation, Physical Vapor Deposition, Chemical Vapor Deposition, Sputtering, etc.
COATING PRODUCTS: Anti-reflective and Reflective coatings, Interference filters, Conductive Thin Films, or similar. Large Optics (Exceeding 1500mm), mirrors, lenses, filters, sensors, etc.
MATERIALS: Gold (Au), Silver (Ag), Aluminum (Al), etc.
SOFTWARE: TFCalc, Filmstar, Optilayer, etc.
