Use advanced knowledge of insurance products, coverage, market segments, and marketplace insurance and actuarial concepts to develop, grow, and maintain a profitable book of Builders Risk and Inland Marine construction business through effective underwriting decision making, mutually beneficial broker relationships, and application of underwriting tools, systems, and expert resources.

*** Execute a strategy to capture new business opportunities and increase productivity

*** Monitor results and initiate corrective action.

*** Identify product and service enhancements and recommend filing and rating needs.

*** Target marketing toward residential and commercial contractors.

*** Manage, monitor and grow a book of business by analyzing the portfolio; identifying areas of opportunity for improved growth, profit, and diversification; and executing marketing plans to increase market share with preferred brokers.

*** Recognize product development filing and rating needs and recommend driver for implementation.

*** Review and analyze new business and renewals to determine acceptability.

*** Determine new and renewal policy premiums through loss projections, policy terms and conditions.

*** Create and present proposals to the agent or broker and successfully negotiate deals.

*** Develop and maintain relationships with brokers through responsive service, site visits, in-person renewal meetings and enhanced knowledge of their customer's businesses.

*** Provides regular updates on book profitability and development to other underwriters.
