Investigate and settle personal auto bodily injury claims with high exposures, including catastrophic injuries and fatalities.

Responsibilities:

*** Source and engage resources required to investigate claims such as subrogation, risk control, nurse consultants, and fire or fraud investigators and to other experts.

*** Secure and analyze reports, policies, appraisals, releases, statements, records, or other documents.

*** Determine and verify nature and extent of injuries.

*** Review and evaluate coverage and liability.

*** Set reserves within prescribed limits and submit recommendations to supervisor on cases exceeding personal authority.

*** Resolve claims files, including attending arbitrations, mediations, dispositions, or trials as necessary.

*** Administer litigated claims including developing and supporting litigation plans with counsel, and tracking and limiting legal expenses.

*** Convey coverage, decision, outcome, and other relevant information to all appropriate parties.

*** Ensure claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
