The Head of Upstream Process Development will lead Cell & Gene Therapy process development and technology transfer into cGMP manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

*** Oversee Upstream Development activities, including cell line development, banking, cell culture, viral vector production, recovery through generation of column load material, with of focus on AAV production.

*** Lead upstream viral vector process development Team, with functions including generation and oversight of design (DOE), development, data analysis, scale-up, tech transfer, process optimization and all related documentation.

*** Drive upstream process characterization activities for viruses used as vectors such as adeno-associated viruses (AAV), retroviruses, adenoviruses (Ad5), lentiviruses, pox viruses, alphaviruses, and herpes viruses.

Qualifications:

*** BS degree in biochemical engineering, biosciences, virology or related discipline

*** Demonstrated experience with viral vector production process development, scale-up and tech transfer including hands-on expertise with scalable bio-production platforms and equipment.
