Director - Child Welfare Advocacy and Support - Paterson, NJ
Director of Policy & Advocacy Manager Vice President Unit Supervisor Child Advocacy Child Welfare Abuse & Neglect _ .
Child Welfare, Abuse & Neglect Policy Unit Leadership role working with diverse state partners to advance the goal that all children are prepared for successful college, work, and adult life.
*** Help design, implement, and lead state Child Welfare, Abuse & Neglectadvocacy campaigns in partnership with national and state advocates.
*** Shape legislative language to closely mirror organization's positive youth development model.
*** Design and implement grassroots advocacy strategies.
*** Educate policy makers about Child Welfare, Abuse & Neglect issues and testify before legislative committees.
*** Follow legislative victories with support to ensure quality implementation.
*** Work with legislative committee staff and governor's offices to positively impact Child Welfare, Abuse & Neglect legislation.
*** Gather, organize, and analyze state policies that affect Child Welfare, Abuse & Neglect issues.
*** Write periodic policy analyses related to the organization's policy advocacy goals.
*** Track related state legislative and rule-making activity.
*** Serve as a content expert on state policy advocacy for Child Welfare, Abuse & Neglect, ensuring that the organization is a leading voice in state policy discussions.
*** Foster effective working relationships with national and state organizations.
Requirements:
*** Related Advanced Degree
*** 5+ years in Child Welfare, Abuse & Neglect advocacy.
*** Familiarity with the state policy environment affecting youth offenders and understanding of reform policy.
