Manage Casualty claims organization and oversee reporting managers and line adjusters handling litigated and non-litigated Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, and General Liability claims.

*** Manage department budget and spending.

*** Oversee claim managers whose staff adjust and resolve commercial general liability, commercial auto, and workers compensation claims. Matters may have significant exposure, in indemnity or expense, and may involve complex coverage issues.

*** Establish department goals and implement performance standards, claims settlement processes and techniques, claims best practices, strategies, and guidelines.

*** Continually review claims operations to ensure processes achieve optimal performance and conformance with industry best practices.

*** Review and approve claims staff work product relative to investigation, coverage evaluation, and resolution strategy.

*** Ensure exposure is recognized and claims are promptly evaluated and reported.

*** Develop optimal resolution strategies from negotiating independent of counsel to working with counsel and mediators through all parts in the settlement process.

*** Provide subject matter expertise on high exposure losses.

*** Manage performance of claims leaders and teams according to established key claims metrics.

*** Work closely with human resources, reporting managers, and senior claims executives to develop initiatives to improve performance.

*** Apprise senior management of trends in litigation and related claim activity.
