Clinical Risk Manager - Health Services - Trenton, NJ

Description
Utilize healthcare risk management experience to promote sound clinical risk management principles, strategies and compliance with external licensing agencies, professional standards, and government regulations.

*** Collaborate with Clinical, Quality, Campus, and other leaders to develop proactive resident safety initiatives, such as falls management, wound management, and elopement risk programs.

*** Develop and disseminate training, & education on policies and standardized processes.

*** Ensure linkages between risk management and quality review functions such as case review and infection control.

*** Classify and prioritize risks based on frequency and severity in order to focus resources and develop risk control strategies.

*** Lead and review investigations: facilitate root cause analysis and provide clinical insight & risk management strategies in response to incidents.

*** Review quality improvement findings, performance improvement results, and information from various internal committees.

*** Develop corrective action plans and monitor follow-up of recommended improvements stemming from risk assessments.

*** Analyze claims and loss history for trends or indications of patterns regarding clinical risks that have experienced losses and communicate results to Clinical and Quality.

*** Assess claim liability and work with third party administrators and outside counsel to help resolve professional and general liability claims.

*** Gather resident & family satisfaction and experience of care feedback for risk implications and ensure complaints are handled quickly.

*** Monitor clinical outcomes, corrective actions, and strategies for effectiveness and make recommendations to Clinical, Quality and Campus leaders to enhance quality of care and manage risk.

*** Provide on call assistance for emergent & urgent risk management issues.

*** Obtain Certified Professional Health Care Risk Manager (CPHRM) or similar risk management certifications.

*** Maintain Registered Professional Nurse Licensure.

*** Serve as subject matter expert related to independent & assisted living, memory care, rehabilitative services, and similar.
