Vacuum metallization is a process used to combine metal with plastic parts by evaporating a metal into a vacuum chamber and electrifying the vapor and then, upon contact with the plastic part, the vapor condenses and creates a uniform layer - For example, a shiny chrome-like appearance.

Manufacturer of large scale custom plastic part vacuum metallizing equipment seeks Mechanical Design engineer who can:

** Work with marketing and customers to define specifications.

** Develop concept for assembly requirements.

** Work with engineering team to analyze concept and optimize.

** Oversee development of detail drawings.

** Assure that design meets customer specifications.

** Follow parts through fabrication and assembly.

** Develop machine testing criteria.

** Work with customer to finalize machine final acceptance testing (FAT).

Required Qualifications:

*** BS Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline.

*** At least 5 years of relevant design experience.

*** Hands-on ability with 2D and 3D design and modeling software.
