Applications Engineer - Laser Tracking for Ship Gun Calibration - Alexandria, VA

Description
Seeking 3+ years engineering experience with Laser Tracking Metrology and Measurement Validation technologies to provide technical support to Sales, Research & Development, Engineering and Prototyping & Testing groups developing systems which rapidly calibrate large guns on battleships before and without firing.

Shall assist and advise with designs, experiments, prototyping, demonstrations, sales calls, etc. related to systems within a battle space environment which apply multi-axis laser tracker 3D imaging technologies to precise measurement requirement an very large objects.

Activities:

*** Suggests improvements to existing laser tracking processes, analyzes novel application concepts for feasability and collaboratively explores new laser applications.

*** Serve as laser tracking technology Subject Matter Expert.

*** Assists sales and engineering in producing quotations, estimates and proposals.

Writes technical, quality and production procedures.

*** Specifies, sources, justifies, and acquires new equipment and reworks and improves existing equipment.

*** May manage specific assigned projects and associated team.

*** Interfaces with academia, government and industry partners and stakeholders through publications, presentations and demonstrations and conducting literature reviews, table-top analysis, concept and design assessments, and trade studies in order to keep company current and abreast of latest technologies and trends in Laser Tracking technologies.
