Description
Seeking hands-on technical abilities and leadership acumen for a key role within a provider of custom, high-precision optical components including lenses, mirrors, optical bench hardware and related components.
Must be able to lead projects through personnel development, management, training, and coaching as well as hands-on operation of highly precise CNC milling, grinding, and polishing equipment during finishing processes for unique products.
Activities:
*** Lead projects from initial evaluation of customer requirements to definition of tooling, materials, labor, testing, packaging, and external services.
*** Assess customer orders and develop drawings, manufacturing methods, and procurement requirements.
*** Propose innovative analysis and testing methods for technical assessment and modeling activities; perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Lens Design analysis, and optical modeling.
*** Act as the manufacturing point of contact for both external customers and upper management, work to ensure requirements are met and exceeded.
*** Provide hands-on technical expertise with finishing processes and utilize highly precise CNC grinding, polishing, and milling machine tools to ensure final products meet customer qualifications.
Qualifications:
*** B.S. or equivalent in engineering, optics, or similar.
*** Project leadership or management experience within a complex manufacturing environment.
