*** Identify ways to filter noise from 3D point clouds on a conveyor to: determine length, width, & height of cuboidal packages; separate touching packages; and measure extent of irregularly shaped packages, etc.

*** Improve execution speed of existing algorithms.

*** Troubleshoot customer reported problems.

*** Stay abreast of 2D and 3D image processing technology trends in the logistics industry.

*** Propose architecture for next generation 3D scanning instruments.
